10. What do the terms "GO" and
"GM" mean?
| |
| |
Club Med villages have a unique, international ambiance and as such may need to have some of the terms explained.
The G.M. (Gentil Member/Guest Member or Kind/Congenial Member) is the name given to a Club Med guest.
The G.O. (Gentil Organisateur/Guest Officer or Kind/Congenial Friend) is the term given to Club Med’s internationally famous talented hosts and hostesses who interact with guests during sports, activities, entertainment and meals. The enthusiasm and charisma of the G.O.’s represent the unique soul of Club Med. It all began when the first Clubs were simply a group of friends seeking the ideal holiday, shared fun, enjoyment and camaraderie.
The spirit hasn’t changed. Club Med’s extraordinarily talented teams of G.O.’s give expert tuition in a huge range of sports, liven up the conversation at breakfast, lunch and dinner, provide fabulous entertainment every night in the Club Med theatre, and so much more.
The Chef de Village (Chief of the Village) is the village manager in charge of the G.O. team and the chief ambassador to all G.M.’s.
Villages - This is a Club Med term for the resorts, which offer many facilities around a central bar/pool/reception area. You walk to location of various activities from here giving the feeling of being in a small village.
