The charm of olive groves and the sound of cicadas

In the hinterland of Cannes, the Club Med Opio en Provence Resort and its 100 hectares of vegetation dominate Provence. Starting early morning, enjoy the rolling valleys of its 9-hole golf course. Practice your juggling skills in our Circus School. Improve your tennis serve with the picturesque village of Châteauneuf de Grasse as a backdrop. Get together with friends for a traditional game of petanque under the cypress trees. Relax in the Zen pool, set in the heart of the region’s largest olive grove and try home-made olive oil. Savour this taste of Provence at your own pace.

Discovering Club Med

4/54/5 • 2/9/2025

We are an international family and have travelled extensively, but this was our first time at a Club Med. It boasts a lively and active atmosphere, with lots of sports and classes to choose from. The famous GOs range from polite to truly great (grazie Ludovica!!!) and mingle with guests (known as GMs). Rooms were spacious and clean. The resort itself is huge and has enough capacity to cater to everyone without feeling crowded. It's a very well run operation.

Food at the main restaurant was impressive, with variety and well plated dishes for thousands of people (the exception was the coffee at breakfast -- just skip it and order a cappuccino at the bar). The Olivier restaurant was a huge disappointment: we arrived on time (by reservation) and left hungry after waiting for over half an hour (no service, no menus, no water, nothing).

Sports activities were plentiful and there were classes for all levels. We would appreciate having more slots for family classes (adults and children together). Our children were not fully integrated by mini-club Med: we didn't feel truly welcome (merely tolerated) and gave up after the first day, which was heartbreaking.

Overall, this was a very family-oriented and very French Club Med, which is excellent in some ways and not so great in other ways. We felt more welcomed by the international staff, specially Italians and Brazilians, and we didn't meet any international guests. While I enjoyed Club Med's value proposition, I must say it was kind of expensive and not completely worry-free. We would like to try a different property, maybe in winter, but the price makes me think twice.

Kids always want to come here now for holidays

5/55/5 • 28/8/2025

This is our first time at Club Med. we are a family of 5 and our 3 boys have a lot of energy.

Our kids loved the Mini Club (4-10 years) and the Petit Club (0-3 years). Actually they only wanted to stay in the kids club as the program is amazing: tennis, circus, swimming, archery, theatre - I mean there is (almost) nothing kids dream of!!! Actually golf is only as of 8 years , 6 would be great too. An absolute highlight is the family theatre show on Thursday.

The food is astonishingly great. I am still trying to figure out how they manage to cook for that many people in such a high quality.

The rooms were very small and not in a superb condition even though we stayed in the highest category. But we spent little time there.

In general the whole village is (too) big but the amenities are great! The gym and zen pool were great - with that size there is basically everything offered.

What kind of stressful is with three boys: the buffett situation so whenever possible we escaped to the Restaurant de Golf where the main course is served.

But what I really want to point out is the superfriendly staff. The GOs are so friendly and naturally welcoming that it is a pleasure to stay at Club Med. From the kids club team to the restaurant and the housekeepers: everyone is superfriendly. A big big thanks to everyone. The friendly staff from shuttle service, welcome team, reception, kids club (especially Hugo, Amandine, Julie, Camille, Morgane, Lucas, Emma, Khalis and the whole fantastic crew!!!!

Another big thanks to the restaurant team: Azzadine, Marco and Zakaria!!!

Family stay in Opio

4/54/5 • 10/8/2025

We had a lovely stay in Opio. The weather was not great, but there was a really good variety of food and the quality was excellent. Key highlight was Max from the Mini Club who looked after our daughter very well! She is talking about him!
